Common questions

What happens to VTT positioning and styling?

Cue settings (position, alignment) and STYLE blocks have no SRT equivalent, so they're removed cleanly. The caption text and timing — the part that matters — survives exactly.

My VTT has no cue numbers — is that a problem?

No. VTT doesn't require them, but SRT does — every cue is renumbered sequentially in the output.

Why does my player show nothing with the original VTT?

Most desktop players and TVs never adopted WebVTT. Converting to SRT is the standard fix — it's the closest thing subtitles have to a universal format.

Is there a file size limit?

Free users can convert files up to 25 MB without an account. Pro raises that to 500 MB per file with 3,000 credits a month; Business goes to 5 GB.
