Common questions
Why won't my renamed .srt work as .vtt?
Renaming isn't converting: VTT requires a WEBVTT header line and dot-decimal timestamps. Browsers silently ignore files that violate either rule — which is exactly what this tool fixes.
Do styling tags survive?
Basic inline tags (<i>, <b>) pass through and render in most players. SRT has no positioning, so no positioning is invented.
Does the reverse direction exist?
Yes — the VTT to SRT converter handles the way back, including stripping VTT-only features SRT can't express.
Is there a file size limit?
Free users can convert files up to 25 MB without an account. Pro raises that to 500 MB per file with 3,000 credits a month; Business goes to 5 GB.
