Why convert AIFF to MP3?
AIFF is Apple's uncompressed audio format — high quality but very large and not universally supported. MP3 shrinks it massively and plays on every device.
Will I lose quality?
MP3 is lossy, so some data is discarded to shrink the file. At a high bitrate the difference is hard to hear. For a lossless shrink, choose FLAC instead.
