Common questions

Why convert HEIC to PNG instead of JPG?

PNG is lossless — perfect for editing, screenshots, or anywhere you want to preserve every pixel of the original. JPG is smaller but applies compression that can introduce visible artefacts after multiple edits. Use PNG when you'll edit the photo further; JPG when you just want to share it.

Will the file get bigger?

Yes — HEIC is a modern, efficient format and PNG is older and lossless, so PNGs are typically 2–4× larger. If file size matters and you don't need lossless editing, try our HEIC → JPG converter instead.

Are Live Photos supported?

Live Photos are stored as HEIC + a paired MOV file. Our converter extracts and converts the HEIC still image only. If you want the motion, separately upload the .MOV part via our MOV → MP4 converter.

Is there a file size limit?

Free users can convert HEIC files up to 25 MB without an account, or up to 10 conversions per day with a free account. Most iPhone photos are 2–6 MB, so the free tier covers typical use. Pro users get 500 MB per file and 3,000 credits a month. Business users get up to 5 GB.
